Summer Camps
The Children's Museum of New Hampshire is offering a number of different half-day camps this summer, Mini Camps for our younger audience and Discovery Camps for a little bit older.
3D Print It Camp!
For ages 8-11+
Tuesday, August 13 - Thursday, August 15
8:30am-11:30am
Join our Education staff this summer for a 3D printing camp for ages 8-11+! Designed as an introductory course, campers will have an opportunity to learn how 3D objects are printed from the ground up using free and accessible software. Each camper will get to bring home a 3D printed object that they design themselves. In addition, campers will try hands-on art and science activities to further explore 3D objects, melting, and matter. Please note that this class is for children ages 8-11. If your child is older than 11, but would like to attend, please contact us to learn more: nicole@childrens-museum.org. Each day starts with time to explore the museum, followed by activities in the classroom, and time to play games and have a snack outside in the park (weather permitting). Campers need to bring along water and a snack for this half-day camp from 8:30-11:30am.
Cost is $150 for Members and $165 for non-members
Registration begins Thursday, February 1, 2024 for Members and Friday, February 9, 2024 for Non-members.

Messy Art Mini Camp II
For ages 4-6 (must use bathroom independently)
Tuesday, July 30 - Thursday, August 1
8:30am-11:30am
This camp was so popular, and filled up so quickly that we decided to offer it twice this summer! This camp is designed for kids who like to get messy and be creative at the same time! Campers (ages 4 - 6) will have a blast exploring science experiments and art related projects with daily hands-on experiments, creative crafts and incredible art projects. Each child will take home a variety of art and science projects that they have created. These Mini Camp half-day programs start with play time in the museum, and includes science experiments, building activities, art projects and more. Enjoy bubbles and chalk art outdoor play time (weather permitting). Children must be able to use the bathroom independently to participate in these camps. Campers should pack a water bottle and snack for this half-day camp.
Cost is $125 for Members and $140 for Non-members

Amusement Park Thrill Rides & Stop Motion Animation
Led by LetGoYourMind and hosted at the Children's Museum of NH
Ages 6-8 years 11 months: Monday, July 22 - Friday, July 26, 9am-3pm >>

For over 14 years, LetGoYourMind has offered age-appropriate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programs using LEGO bricks. Over 20,000 kids have benefited from their hands-on, student-centered curriculum. These camps are hosted at the Children's Museum of New Hampshire in Dover, and guided by the LetGoYourMind teaching staff. Students will become master amusement park designers as we create LEGO Amusement thrill rides. Students will use STEM principles to create and modify Merry Go Rounds, Teacup Rides, Tilt-A-Whirls, bumper cars, and more. Students will use gears and motors to learn about mechanical devices such as levers, wheels, and axles. In the afternoon, students will create their own mini movie set, learn the parts of a story, and create an animated movie using LEGO mini figures and other objects. They will also learn how to edit their films, attach music, and add titles/credits using professional stop animation software. Registration for this camp is done through LetGoYourMind. Robotic Challenges, Stop Motion Animation, & Minecraft

FULL - STEAM Creatures and Critters Discovery Camp
For ages 6-7 years
Tuesday, August 6 - Thursday, August 8
8:30-11:30am
Join us for "STEAM Creatures and Critters" day camp this summer for campers 6-7 years old. Try out amazing science experiments and learn all about wild creatures and amazing critters! Campers will think like engineers and build structures to test out and learn about animal builders, and think like scientists and try some messy, fun projects about animal adaptations. Each day will feature hands-on experiments as well as art and engineering projects to take home. From nocturnal critters to deep sea critters, we will have fun, learn, and play! Our STEAM Discovery camps offer projects related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math topics. Each day starts with time to explore the museum, followed by activities in the classroom, and time to play games and have a snack outside in the park (weather permitting). Campers need to bring along water and a snack for this half-day camp from 8:30-11:30am.

FULL - Science Art Mini Camp

This camp is designed to give kids the opportunity to become junior scientists while exploring early chemistry experiments! Each camper (ages 4-5) will learn about the basics of matter with daily hands-on science and art inspired activities. These Mini Camp half-day programs start with play time in the museum, and includes science experiments, building activities, art projects and more. Enjoy bubbles and chalk art outdoor play time (weather permitting). Children must be able to use the bathroom independently to participate in these camps. Campers should pack a water bottle and snack for this half-day camp.

FULL - Fairy Tale Explorers Mini Camp
For ages 4-5 (must use bathroom independently)

This camp is designed to encourage the artist and explorer that exists within each child! Each camper (ages 4-5) will explore the world of fairy tales and stories through art projects and science experiments. Campers will use their creativity and imaginations to create fabulous works of art to bring home. These Mini Camp half-day programs start with play time in the museum, and includes science experiments, building activities, art projects and more. Enjoy bubbles and chalk art outdoor play time (weather permitting). Children must be able to use the bathroom independently to participate in these camps. Campers should pack a water bottle and snack for this half-day camp.
